Join us for a night of Live Music at the District Stage featuring Hooters Blues!

Atlantic City, NJ’s Hooter started his musical journey in earnest at the beginning of 1974. As a child, he was greatly influenced by his father’s love of Benny Goodman and big band jazz. Having heard the Beatle’s version of Twist and Shout in 1963, he was hooked on bluesy rock n’ roll. A few years later the Allman Brother’s version of One Way Out sealed the deal. Starting on guitar, he bought his 1971 Fender Precision Bass in 1977 for a grand total of 150 dollars. Having done over 10,000 gigs and counting at this point, he’s definitely gotten his money’s worth! He’s played all over the US, Canada and Europe, including a tour of Israel in March 2000, before moving to Phoenix/AZ in 2012, where he’s been burning up stages ever since!. Among many other accolades, he’s been nominated for 2 AZ Blues Hall of Fame nominations, as well as 5 WC Handy Awards nominations and countless US/international tours, including the apex of the blues world, The Chicago Blues Festival in 2000, with Mississippi Delta Blues legend Big Jack Johnson.
